Brief history of JUNGLIA Okinawa
JUNGLIA Okinawa is a large-scale nature-immersive theme park being developed in the Yanbaru forest region of northern Okinawa as part of a long-term effort to create a new kind of tourism destination that combines nature, culture, and entertainment.
The project is built around the concept of “Power Vacance!!”, focusing on delivering an outdoor experience that highlights Okinawa’s natural environment and local culture through a mix of attractions, dining, and family-friendly activities, all within a forest setting that was previously a golf course site.
The development has been led by Japanese marketing company Katana Inc., under CEO Takeshi Morioka, and has taken shape over several years with support from local stakeholders and regional initiatives aimed at boosting tourism and economic activity in northern Okinawa.
Planned as a large destination park spanning around 60 hectares, JUNGLIA includes adventure attractions, interactive experiences, dining spaces, retail areas, and wellness facilities, designed to offer a full-day nature-based experience.
Today, JUNGLIA Okinawa is positioned as a new-generation theme park concept in Japan, combining outdoor adventure with sustainability-focused development and regional collaboration in the Yanbaru area.
